ISG PLENARY MEETING REPORT 18/11/2008 The Plenary Meeting of ISG 2008 held on November 18, 2008 với topic “Actions towards sustainable and comprehensive development of agriculture, farmers and rural areas”. The objective of this year plenary meeting is to share information on the Resolution 26 - NQ/TƯ dated 5/8/2008 on “Agriculture, Farmers, Rural Areas” and give recommendations for the draft action plan to implement the Resolution. Especially gain the consensus on viewpoints and methodologies for challenge issues to obtain the objectives concerning to human resource management, land management and food security for the ethnic minority groups
Group 1: The objective of this group discussion is to point out the current status and issues, challenges and solutions to rural community health care; education and training, vocation training for rural labors to achieve the objectives of the Resolution 26 NQ/TW on Agriculture, Farmers, Rural Areas
Group 2: The objective of this group discussion is to point out the current status of land accumulation; advantages and disadvantages of land accumulation and solutions to land accumulation
Group 3: The objective of this group
discussion is to point out alternative crops and non -
agricultural income generation activities to assure food security in
the northern provinces; nutrition issues for women....
